James H. Clark

Our hearts were saddened when James H. Clark passed away on March 13. 2022, at Essentia Hospital in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. James (Jim) Henry Clark was born on August 17, 1942. His parents were Charles and Evelyn Clark, but he and his two brothers and uncle were raised by his grandmother Ann Pinn. He grew up in Culbertson, NE and then joined the Navy in 1962 and served on the USS Duncan. When he returned home, he married Sandra (Marquardt) Clevenger and had two children, Troy Clark, and Tammy (Clark) Faimon. Later in life he was blessed with four stepchildren and now we have William (Andrea) Clark, Denny (Kelly) Anderson, Robert (Kim) Stromberg and Joe (Diana) Farrell and all their families. Jim spent most of his life as a salesman. He sold furniture, mobile homes and then cars for most of his life. In 1980 Jim moved from Fargo, ND and became the sales manager for Davis Chevrolet and later with Overvold Motors both in Fargo, ND, but in 1990 he took a job with Neresons. Auto and moved to Detroit Lakes, MN area where he spent the remainder of his life. His Detroit Lakes life and home were where he found peace and happiness. Jim retired from sales in 2004.
Jim’s family includes the love of 31 years with Kathleen Blacknik, his son and daughter-in-law Troy and Catherine Clark and their two sons and three grandchildren in Colorado, his daughter Tammy, and her husband Greg Faimon and their three kids and three grandchildren. Kathleen’s family also includes her son Max and Annette Blacknik, their three children and three grandchildren and Marc Blacknik, Jill Larson, and their 3 children Crystal Grossman, Jon and Launa Weisser, Jake Weisser, and 15 grandchildren. All our families’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren were loved and supported by Jim in his life.
Jim is also survived by his brother Mick (Ann) Clark in Collinsville, TX, their son Rick Clark in Nebraska, Sister-in-law Mary Clark in Salem, IL and her family of two daughters and his Aunt Carol Pinn in Sioux Falls, SD and her family.
James H. Clark was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Evelyn Clark, grandmother Ann Pinn, Uncle Orville Pinn, and brother Ronald E. Clark.
Funeral Services for James will be Saturday, June 18, 2022, at David-Donehower funeral home in Detroit Lakes, MN 56501. Visitation at 10 am, Service at 11 am, lunch to follow before Burial service at Oak Grove cemetery in Detroit Lakes, MN at 1 pm with military honors at 1:30 pm.
