One hurt in Hwy 34 crash in Becker County Monday

According to the State Patrol, a woman was eastbound on Highway 34 near Hanna Ore Road when the Cadillac Escalade SUV she was driving hit a patch of black ice, went into the ditch and ended up on its side.

A woman was injured Monday when her car hit an icy patch and slid into the ditch on Highway 34 in Carsonville Township in Becker County.

Diane Catherine Rauma, 61, of Pine River suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes.

According to the State Patrol, she was eastbound on Highway 34 near Hanna Ore Road when the Cadillac Escalade SUV she was driving hit a patch of black ice, went into the ditch and ended up on its side.

Airbags did not deploy and she was wearing a seatbelt. The crash was reported at 10:45 a.m. on snowy-icy pavement. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office, North Memorial Ambulance, and Carsonville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
