Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary Club is part of Rotary International. Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

In Detroit Lakes, there are two Rotary clubs: Breakfast Rotary and Noon Rotary. Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary Club is an approximately 70-member club that meets on Tuesday mornings at 7am at Speak Easy. There are a number of fundraising events and happenings throughout the year, where we, as a club, raise money to give to groups as needed. Examples of our Breakfast Rotary Club fundraisers include the Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Peach Sale in August and the Rose Sale in November. Proceeds from these successful fundraising events benefit such things as buying books for area grade school literacy programs, The Boys and Girls Club summer programming, The Lakes Crisis and Resource Center in-school wellness programs, area scholarships, the Food Pantry, Memorial Day Parade, Scouts, Youth Exchange programs, various Senior Citizen programs...the list goes on!
