Employees at the Mahnomen Health Center reported a man was admitted to the ER with a stab wound in his back early Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Mahnomen County Sheriff. A suspect is being sought in connection with the incident, but the stabbing is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public, the release stated.
“Both White Earth Nation and the 1855 Treaty Authority are opposed to this plan, and their objections have helped us to pause the tree-cutting for another month,” White Earth tribal member Winona LaDuke said in an email to supporters. “Your input can turn this temporary delay into a permanent win for the Smoky Hills and Scenic Byway as we meet with public officials during this time.”
The Twin Cities Native Lacrosse League will be hosting a free lacrosse clinic and games for kids fourth grade and older at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex on Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jacqueline Ann Bernacchi, 70, of Naytahwaush was taken to the Mahnomen Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The candidate used a Maplewood, Minnesota address on his candidacy affidavit form, which, the supreme court stated, is a Twin Cities suburb and not located within Senate District 2. In the July 15 ruling, the court declared the candidate ineligible to hold the office of state senator from District 2 and disqualified them from being a candidate for that office in the 2022 primary election to be held on Aug. 9.
