Sam Stuve covers a variety of sports in Alexandria and the surrounding area, including in Osakis, Parker Prairie, Brandon-Evansville and more.

Sam is a December 2021 graduate from Iowa State University. He worked for three and a half years on the Iowa State Daily sports desk and he has previously worked for the Marshalltown-Times Republican as an intern.

Alexandria put up eight goals in Saturday's 8-0 win over Detroit Lakes. Sophia Korynta led the way with four goals, while Allie Haabala and Ella Westlund had two. Detroit Lakes is 0-2 to start the season.

John Peeters of New York Mills adds to his list of career accomplishments by earning the 2022 Carver of the Year Award from the Mid-State Chapter of the Minnesota Darkhouse and Angling Association. Peeters was front and center at the always-popular Rudy Zwieg Decoy and Sportsman Show in Alexandria on March 19.
