The Detroit Lakes boys basketball team dropped a close 8-3A game at St. Cloud Apollo on Friday night.
The Lakers (1-3) were led by Mason Carrier, who scored a team-high 15 points in the 69-57 loss. Apollo (3-3) senior Thomas Diew had 18 points at the half, while freshman Azayah Washington had 17 in the first 18 minutes to help lead the Eagles to a 12-point win.
Carrier also led the team in rebounds with nine. Nate Cihak had eight points and six assists. Christian Solberg had seven points, while Chris Breeden and Caeden Yliniemi each had six.
