Patriots score 42 first half points to beat LP-A

The Upsala-Swanville Area Patriots put all 42 points up in the first half in a 42-10 home rout of visiting Lake Park-Audubon.

USA had all the points they needed in the first quarter behind a Dalton Luden seven-yard run and to Myron Ripplinger touchdown passes to Alex Thieschafer from 19-yards out and Parker Barth from 16-yards away to go up 21-0 after the opening quarter.

LP-A quarterback Teddy Schauer hit Mitch Hall on a 44-yard touchdown and the Raiders added the conversion to cut the lead to 21-8.

USA responded with three consecutive scores: a Dylan Graves 12-yard run, followed by Ripplinger’s third and fourth touchdown passes of the game, a 16-yard hookup and a 15-yard strike, both to Eric Koetter.

LP-A’s Carter Raaen rushed for a one-yard score for the only touchdown of the second half and the 42-10 final.

Ripplinger was 8-12 passing for 141 yards and four touchdowns. Louden led the Patriots with 73 yards on 10 carries and one TD.

Hall was the offensive star for the Raiders making six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown. Eli Noel had a big night defensively making 11 tackles.

The loss spoiled the debut of Raiders’ head football coach Brian Robertson.

The Raiders (0-1) home opener is Friday, Sept. 9 versus Fosston. The Greyhounds are 1-0 after a 28-6 win at Red Lake last week.
