Raider relays shine at Pine to Prairie

The Lake Park-Audubon boys 4x800m relay team started the Pine to Prairie Conference Meet with a school record and the 4x400m team ended the meet with a school record.

The 4x800 team of Garrett Cossette, Will Hannesson, Nick Donovan, and Bailey Johnson won the event and broke their own school record with a time of 8:53.23. The previous record of 8:57.56 was set earlier this year.

The 4x400m team of Bailey Johnson, Garrett Cossette, Nick Donovan, and Will James III placed second and their time of 3:46.21 broke the 2007 school record of 3:46.21 set by Justin Hanson, Isaiah Pearson, Paul Jenson, and Roman Federick.

The 4x200m team took third place and the 4x100m team ran a season best time of 48.26 for second place.

Also scoring points for the boys were Ryan Voge with a 7th place finish in the 100, Sanden O'Connell with a 6th place finish in the 1600 and 4th place finish in the 3200, Shawn Skjold with a 6th place finish in the 400, Garrett Cossette with a third place finish in the 800 and sixth place long jump, Will James III with a 4th place finish in the long jump, Will Hannesson with a 7th place finish in the 200, and Colby Hesby and Jacob Beaudine-Schlick with a sixth place and seventh place finish in the 3200.

On the girls' side, Lily Peterson was crowned the distance queen with her first place finishes in both the 1600m and 3200m. The 4x800 team of Sydney Porter, Hailey Frohman, Kay Pederson, and Beth Schauer earned runner-up honors, while the 4x100m and 4x200m both placed sixth. Also scoring for the Lady Raiders were Kayla Holmer in the 100 with an 8th place finish, Beth Schauer with a 4th place finish in the 800, Gracie Johnson with an 8th place finish in the 3200, and Alexis Gehrig with a 6th place finish in the shot put.
