The Lake Park-Audubon track and field team sent seven individuals to compete at the Section 8A Track and Field Meet on Saturday, June 3 in Bagley.

The hot temperatures did not lend well to fast distance times, but the student-athletes finished the season with good results.

The boys' 4x800m team of Garrett Cossette, Will Hannesson, Nick Donovan, and Bailey Johnson finished in fifth place with a time of 9:01.00. This team is young with three sophomores and one eighth grader. Look for great things to come next year from this school record-holding team.

Bailey Johnson came back in the 800m and placed seventh with a time of 2:08.52. Will James and Shawn Skjold competed in the long jump. James finished his track and field career with three foul jumps, while Shawn jumped 17-04.

On the girls' side, Lily Peterson just missed the podium in the 1600m with a ninth place finish. She came back an hour later and ran the 3200m to place eighth.
