Busker earns second St. Kate’s Athlete of the Week honor

For second consecutive week, former Laker golf star Sydney Busker has been named the Athlete of the Week at St. Catherine University.

The St. Kate’s golf team is no stranger to breaking records and making history.

Over the weekend, the Wildcats recorded the lowest-single round score in program history (303) in Saturday’s first round.

Busker (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) broke two school records over the weekend in Iowa.

Busker became the first golfer in program history to shoot under par in a single round of a tournament Saturday.

The junior shot 71 finishing one-under-par and set the record for lowest single-round score in school history.

Busker finished fourth in a field that featured over 100 golfers carding a two-day score of 148 (+4). According to available records, Busker's 148 is historic, as it is the lowest two-day score in program history.

After combining St. Kate's top-four scores, the team finished the tournament in a tie for third place thanks to a score of 629 (+53).

Carleton College won the tournament as a team with a score of 616 (+40), while Wartburg's Brooke Klostermann won the tournament as an individual with a two-day score of 143 (-1). The Wildcats will compete at the D-III Classic in Lake City, Minnesota next Saturday and Sunday.
