The Detroit Lakes girls soccer team continued an unbeaten streak of five games (3-0-2) with a 7-0 victory over Crookston to complete a season sweep of the Pirates in a Lakes to Prairie Conference and Section 8A game Tuesday night at Rotary Soccer Park.
The Lakers scored five first half goals to put the game away by the halftime horn.
Madilyn Kirchner opened the scoring off an Emily Larson assist in the 10th minute.
Sydney Brininger scored on a loose ball near the net on an assist by Sophia Gunderson in the 20th minute.
Larson found Lily Burnside on a nice cross across the goal mouth for a 3-0 lead in the 29th minute.
Nicole Swanson had the first of her two assists setting up Karrigan Hallisey to go up 4-0 and Ava Steinmetz scored on a free kick from the side of the box three minutes later.
Abagail Larson scored unassisted three minutes into the second half and Anna Jones capped the scoring on a one-touch kick from a Swanson assist.
The Lakers (5-1-2) held Crookston (0-8-1) to no shots on goal. DL hosts Moorhead (7-2) Thursday, Sept. 20.
