The Detroit Lakes girls soccer team was victorious for a fourth consecutive game and have lost only once in the past 10 games after a 7-3 victory over Princeton Saturday, Sept. 29 at Rotary Soccer Park.
The Lakers broke open a close game that was tied 1-1 at halftime played in wet conditions.
Anna Jones gave DL a 2-1 lead early in the second half and Nicole Swanson set up a header goal by Madilyn Kirchner for a 3-1 advantage midway through the half.
Jones tallied again less than two minutes later before back-to-back goals by Abigail Larson turned the once tight game into a rout.
After a pair of penalty kick goals by Princeton, Kerrigan Hallisey added the final Laker tally for the 7-3 final.
DL is 9-2-2 overall, one victory away from matching last season’s win total with three games remaining on the regular season schedule at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, at home versus Bemidji 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 and at Moorhead 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 in the season finale.
