Pequot Lakes rallied from a 2-1 deficit taking the fourth and fifth sets in a 3-2 Mid-State Conference volleyball victory over the Lakers in Pequot Lakes Tuesday, Oct. 2.
DL came out strong taking the first set 25-16, but the Patriots answered 25-20 to even the match.
The Lakers rallied after trailing 20-12 in the third going on a 13-3 run to take the third set 25-23.
The Patriots rallied winning the fourth 25-16 and the match went down to the wire with Pequot winning the third 15-13.
Lydia Hubbard registered 20 kills and six blocks to lead the Patriots. Britt Kratochvil added 21 digs, nine kills and two ace serves to help improve the Patriots 11-4 overall.
Anna Cihak paced the DL offense with 18 kills and nine digs. Bre Price had 12 kills; Teeya Doppler added 10 and had a team-high 22 digs. Autumn Kulik was in double figures in digs with 10.
The Lakers had 10 ace serves led by Doppler and Faith Keller with three each.
The loss was the first in four matches for the Lakers. DL dropped to 8-7 overall heading into the Mid-State finale Thursday, Oct. 4 at home against Staples-Motley.
