The Moorhead Spuds scored three unanswered goals after a scoreless first half to hand the Laker girls soccer team a first loss in seven games by a score of 3-0 to end the regular season Saturday, Oct. 6 in Moorhead.
The Lakers have only lost twice in 13 games, both to Class 2A Moorhead.
Kylie Englund scored twice for the Spuds (13-3) and Olivia Watson added a goal.
The Lakers finish the season 10-3-3 and were 9-1-3 in Section 8A play, which should garner a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The north subsection will be seeded by QRF rankings Wednesday, Oct. 10 and DL will open at home Thursday, Oct. 11 in a game scheduled for 4 p.m. at Rotary Soccer Park. Subsequent games are at the home field of the higher seed until the Section final Thursday, Oct. 18 at a neutral site.
