The Detroit Lakes swimming and diving team recorded the largest margin of victory over section rivals Bemidji during the tenure of head coach Carol Fischer Tuesday night at Bemidji high school defeating the Lumberjacks 110.5 to 75.5.

“Hard work this season and over MEA paid off with lots of time drops by some of our younger swimmers setting them up for better seed times at Sections,” Fischer said. “Our freestyle relays also saw some impressive 50 and 100 splits. In 15 seasons of coaching, I've never had two 400-free relays under four minutes. Lots of great competitors, racers, on this 2018 Laker team. They are fun to work with and fun to watch.”
