The Detroit Lakes volleyball team announced end of season awards at their annual postseason banquet.

The Lakers finished the season with an overall record of 14-14 and advanced to the Section 8AA quarterfinals before losing to the eventual section champions Park Rapids 3-1.

Three players earned Mid-State Conference awards: senior Courtnee Ziegler, junior Anna Cihak, senior Teeya Doppler and senior Breanna Price received honorable mention.

Price, a recent Valley City State University basketball commit, also received an all-state academic award for her work in the classroom.

Junior Jocelyn Patnaude led the team at the net with 59 block aces.


Ziegler led the team with 424 assists and 42 service aces.

Doppler had team highs of 309 kills, 193 digs, and was tied with Ziegler with 42 service aces. Doppler will be playing collegiate volleyball next season at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

The Lakers lose three seniors from the team to graduation in Ziegler, Price and Doppler and have six experienced juniors returning for their senior seasons.

The team finished the season with their traditional Fathers versus Daughters game with the dads pulling out a victory this year.
