The Lakers manufactured their first run of the tournament in the bottom of the second.

Dakota Moran and Taylor Prussia walked with two outs setting up a Sara Freeman RBI single that brought home courtesy runner Emma Coley running for Moran.

A four-run fourth inning by Mahtomedi put the Zephyrs within a run of bringing the 10-run rule into effect. Madilyn Kirchner ended the frame with a strikeout, one of her four in the game. The Lakers held Mahtomedi off the scoreboard the remainder of contest.

Trailing 13-1, singles by Mercedez Bellanger, Autumn Kulik, Taylor Prussia and Laken Weaver combined with a wild pitch and a Zephyr error led to three Lakers runs in the fourth inning.

The only multi-run inning of the tournament ended with Freeman caught at the third base bag after Mahtomedi foiled a double steal attempt.

Weaver and Freeman were each 1-3 with a RBI.

Megan Nuebeck led Mahtomedi going 3-5 with two runs and three RBI.
