Kent Sundseth has joined the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge staff as refuge manager. He will oversee refuge operations as well as the wetland and conservation easements distributed throughout the five counties of the Tamarac Wetland Management District, according to a news release.

"I've been fortunate to work in some special places across the National Wildlife Refuge System and Tamarac refuge is another great opportunity to do that," Sundseth said of his new Becker County position in the news release.

Sundseth has more than 20 years of experience with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He began his career studying upland birds at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge in Zimmerman.

A Minnesota native, Sundseth attended college at St. Cloud State University, and holds a master's degree in Wildlife Biology. He has spent the last five years at Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge and Wetland Management District in North Dakota.
