The Detroit Lakes swimming team defeated Thief River Falls on the road Tuesday, Sept. 3 by a wide margin 120-50.

The Lakers won nine of 11 events including a sweep of all three relays.

Jennifer Tracy, Evan Westrum, Faith Hamm and Kaitlyn Peterson swam 2:02.03 to open the meet with a 200-medley win.

Lucy Steinke, Chelsy Johnson, Faith Hamm and Peterson ended the meet with a 400-freestyle relay victory in 4:07.40.

The Lakers' B team of Steinke, Lexi Gerdes, Jessica Bolar and Peterson won the 200-freestyle relay in 1:50.00, besting the A team of Johnson, Westrum, Marin Westrum and Tracy by 1.44 seconds.

Peterson (2:08.41), Hamm and Ellie Staley swept the top three 200-freestyle finishes.

Lexi Gerdes (2:26.85) captured the 200 Individual Medley.

Tracy (1:02.58), Evan Westrum (1:05.05) and Lexi Gerdes (1:07.33) swept the 100-fly.

Steinke (59.94) and Johnson (1:00.43) finished one-two in the 100-free.

Hamm was the 500-freestyle winner in a time of 6:00.15.

Madie Gerdes (1:13.85), Evan Westrum (1:15.89) and Staley (1:18.07) took the top three spots in the 100-breaststroke.

Steinke (26.94) and Bolar (28.75) placed second and third behind the Prowlers' Annika Dalager (26.92) in the 50-free.

Dalager also won the 100-backstroke in 1:08.12. Tracy (1:08.43), Marin Westrum (1:14.41) and Johnson (1:17.43) placed second through fourth.

There was no diving competition held.

The Laker junior varsity also won 97-41.

DL remains on the road swimming at the Pirate Invitational in Crookston Thursday, Sept. 12 and in dual action at Park Rapids Saturday, Sept. 14.
