St. Cloud Apollo scored a season-high nine goals and captured back-to-back victories for the first time this season in a 9-1 Section 8A victory over the Detroit Lakes boys soccer team in St. Cloud Saturday, Sept. 7.
The Eagles held a 3-0 lead at halftime before scoring six times in the second half.
Ahmed Hassan led the way for Apollo (2-3) with a hat trick. Abduwassa Abdullahi scored two goals and added an assist.
Landon Mackner had the lone tally for Detroit Lakes.
The Lakers (1-5) have dropped five consecutive games since winning the road opener at Crookston.
The DL boys have one of only two home games this week when they face East Grand Forks (1-2-1) Thursday, Sept. 12. The Laker tennis team is home Friday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. against Thief River Falls.
