DETROIT LAKES – The Detroit Lakes Pickleball club held its annual Big Guns Shootout tournament at the Detroit Lakes pickleball courts.

Teams of two played nine rounds to 11 last Thursday morning. The winners of the Big Guns Shootout were decided by overall record and scoring instead of a head-to-head bracket.

Tim Lais and Larry Landon won the tournament. Brady Sczepanski and Isaiah Volk took second, while Greg and Ben Unruh claimed third place.

The local pickleballers play six days a week in downtown Detroit Lakes from starting at 8:30 a.m at People’s Park. The group rotates in and out of about 40 matches each morning session, including the winner-stays challenge court up to three matches. Other courts are designated for different levels of competition.
