Bergman named to MGBCA Hall of Fame Class of 2017

Scott Bergman, far left, a Frazee graduate and head coach of the 2017-18 state champion Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball team, was inducted into the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2017 along with Ada-Borup head coach Dave Smart, former Fridley coach and Miss Minnesota Basketball committee member Dave Morgan and former St. Michael/Albertville head girls basketball coach Lisa Sukalski.

Bergman graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1992 with a Masters in Education. He has spent his entire math teaching career in Sauk Centre.

Scott and his wife Roxanne have one daughter, Greta, a math teacher in Royalton.

Bergman assisted the boys basketball program until 2002 when he became the girls head coach.

Since that time, the Mainstreeters have an overall record of 345-117 and have made eight state tournament appearances.

Sauk Centre has won the West Central Conference the last nine years.

Scott was named the Section coach of the year four times and the Class AA coach of the year four times.
