Lane leads Patriots over DL girls

Pequot Lakes senior Olivia Lane put up a big double-double to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots over Detroit Lakes 64-45 in a Mid-State Conference girls basketball victory at Pequot Lakes high school Friday, Dec. 7.

Lane, a University of North Dakota commit, scored 24 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a dominant performance.

The Patriots blew open a tight game at the half with the Lakers going to the break down five 28-23.

Lauryn Manning led the Lakers with 15 points. Breanna Price was in double figures with 11.

Erika Lane added 13 points for the Patriots.

The Lakers shot 8-11 (73 percent) from the stripe. The Patriots were good on half of their 14 attempts.

Pequot Lakes is 1-0 in the Mid-State and 3-2 overall.

The Lakers are 1-1 in conference play and 3-2 overall having dropped two straight heading into a conference game at home versus Staples-Motley (2-2, 0-1) Monday, Dec. 10.
