Laker girls fall at Park Rapids

Park Rapids defended home court in the first of two conference meetings with Detroit Lakes as the Panthers downed the Lakers 62-39 in girls basketball Thursday, Jan. 10 at Park Rapids high school.

That Panthers held DL to 17 first half points and built an 11-point lead by the halftime break.

Junior center Rilee Michaelson and senior guard Kaisa Coborn combined for 34 points, 19 from Michaelson and 15 from Coborn.

Senior guard Emily Larson was the lone Laker in double figures with 16 points.

Detroit Lakes played its seventh consecutive game on the road. They finish up the road trip with another Mid-State game at Crosby-Ironton Tuesday, Jan. 15 before returning home to face Perham Thursday, Jan. 17.

Park Rapids improved to 7-2 and 3-1 in conference play.

DL dropped to 2-2 in the Mid-State and 6-8 overall.
