No. 16AA Fergus Falls used an 18-3 run from the opening tip to get out in front of Detroit Lakes quickly and held a comfortable lead in a 51-39 victory on the Otters’ home court Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Detroit Lakes was held to 14 first half points and the 39 points scored in the game was a season low.
Fergus Falls Chance Nordgren sank a bucket at the halftime buzzer to give the Otters a 20-point lead at the break 34-14.
Chance Fazio led all scorers with 14 points and added 10 rebounds to record a double-double.
Reed Mace was the lone Laker in double figures with 11 points.
Fergus Falls improved to 7-3 overall.
Detroit Lakes dropped consecutive games for the first time this season falling to 3-5. The Lakers will be tested again Thursday, Jan. 9 at home against undefeated No. 5AA Perham (9-0).
Thursday’s game is slated for a late start of 8 p.m., following the girls game against Alexandria at 6 p.m.
