A recent uptick in quality of play has head coach Rachel Johnson’s Detroit Lakes girls basketball team ranked at No. 20 in the Pacesetter Class AAA state polls and the team backed that up with a 65-32 Mid-State Conference blowout victory at Aitkin Thursday, Feb. 18.

The game was in hand quickly as the Lakers scored 16 of the first 17 points.

Jacee Hauser finished off a 20-11 run under the hoop to push the lead to 36-12.

The Lakers polished off a 46-point first half with a 9-3 run to the horn to lead big 46-15 at the break.

DL scored the first six points of the second half and Johnson pulled her starters to get the bench some work on the floor.
