Detroit Lakes led once in the early going before succumbing to a balanced Spuds offensive attack in an 81-48 non-conference boys basketball loss Tuesday, Feb. 23 in Moorhead.

Zack Oistad and Matthew Tobkin hit back-to-back field goals for a 4-2 Laker advantage, but Moorhead responded with a 16-4 run to get up by double figures at 18-8 and continued to build on the lead.

The Spuds held a 21-point cushion by halftime 44-23.

David Lindell’s 14 points and Belind Alemadi’s 13 points led Moorhead shooters. A dozen Spuds got on the scoresheet.

Nate Cihak led the Lakers with 14 points; Oistad added 12 points.

Moorhead improved to 5-7 overall. Detroit Lakes dropped to 6-3 and will travel to Park Rapids (2-8) Thursday, Feb. 25.
