Dylan Reitan scored a game-high 24 points to lead Mahnomen to a comeback victory over Frazee 63-61 at Mahnomen High School in non-conference boys’ basketball action Friday.

“I was very pleased with our effort as our team didn't quit and kept battling right to the end,” Frazee head coach Brian Tangen said. “It was a very physical game with lots of fouls. We had our chances but made some poor choices on several possessions that ultimately cost us the game.”

There were 59 fouls in the game, 31 called on the Indians.

Both teams had eight players score in the game.

Frazee led 37-32 at halftime.

Brady Bellefeuille led Frazee for the third straight game with 18 points. Matt Tangen added 17.

“Hopefully, we learn from this game and get better from it.  I thought Mathew Daggett had a really nice game for us almost getting a double-double. We have been looking for him to be more aggressive he did that. Austin Torma again played solid in the post and Gunnar Hilde gave us some really solid minutes off the bench.”

Frazee suffered its first loss of the season and have a record of 2-1. The Indians are also 2-1.

Frazee continues the season in a non-conference game against Sebeka (1-3) Tuesday night at home.

Mahnomen has an 11-day break until their next game versus Norman County West (2-0) Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at home.
