A couple of turnovers resulted in four points for the Crosby-Ironton girls' basketball team at home, which ultimately was the turning point in Tuesday's Mid-State Conference showdown with Detroit Lakes.
The series of plays came around the six-minute mark, as the Rangers hit a few more shots than the Lakers in a closely fought 41-33 victory.
The Lakers (6-6) held a 19-18 halftime advantage, behind a trio of three pointers by guard Kayli Muckenhirn.
But C-I was able to contain Muckenhirn's deep shooting, holding her to no points in the second half, while the Lakers were limited to just 14 points.
"Both teams played extremely hard and the game came down to hitting shots," said DL head coach Mike Hoganson. "C-I made a couple more shots than us."

The defensive efforts by both teams were stellar, as each hindered the other's shots.
"As a team, we didn't shoot the ball well," Hoganson said.
Laker senior post Jen Matter found some success in the paint, notching a team-high 12 points, while the Rangers were led by guards Jana Anderson and Chelsey Bonsante with 14 points apiece.
The Lakers will travel to Moorhead (0-13) Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. start.
