The 55 recruits equal the most in program history and marks the fifth consecutive season the Cobbers have had more than 50 incoming players.

"We continue to set our goals high when it comes to recruiting," Horan said in a news release. "This year we were able to spread out our territory and it proved to be instrumental in helping bring in the record number."

The class is comprised of 29 defensive players, 22 offensive players and four specialists. Sixteen of the recruits are outside the program's primary recruiting area of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
