Danielson, Nelson all-conference at HOL XC

Frazee senior Megan Danielson and Lake Park-Audubon eighth-grader Taytum Nelson recorded all-conference finishes at the Heart O’ Lakes cross country championships Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Birchwood Golf Course in Pelican Rapids.

Danielson placed sixth overall with a time of 20:31.810, while Nelson grabbed the final all-conference spot in 10th place running 20:45.7.

Nelson’s Raiders places fourth overall in the team standings. Frazee’s team was incomplete with only Danielson and Braylee Riewer running. Riewer, a freshman, just missed an honorable mention for the top 15 spots with a 16th place time of 21:10.6

Also scoring for the LP-A girls: Beth Schauer (18th-21:32.8), Grace Schauer (28th-22:59.0), Laura Schauer (37th-24:05.2) and Maria Schauer (40th-24:27.0)

The Perham girls team captured a 15th straight team title led by freshman medalist Liz Birkeland (21:01.2).

The Frazee boys placed fifth with the Raiders in seventh place behind the Yellowjackets. Perham boys won the conference title for the 17th straight season.

Sophomore Christian Carlson paced the Hornets finishing with a time of 18:23.9, good for 17th place. Grady Larsen placed 20th running 18:29.2, followed by Nathan Johannsen (23rd-18:58.5), Peyton Cole (29th-19:23.5) and Caleb Wutzke (36th-19:56.5).

The Raiders were led by senior Nicolas Donovan in 22nd place (18:46.7) with scoring finishes contributed by Korey Smigelsky (32nd-19:37.4), Tyler Bjerke (38th-20:00.0), Bailey Johnson (42nd- 20:18.5) and Seth Torgerson (48th-20:53.2).
