Dance: Lakers take home Mid-State Conference jazz title

The Detroit Lakes jazz team kept rolling on Saturday at the Mid-State Conference championships in Aitkin.

The Lakers took first place in the four-team field. They were followed by Crosby-Ironton, Aitkin and Pequot Lakes-Pine River-Backus.

In high-kick, the Lakers took third place behind Crosby-Ironton and Pequot Lakes. The Lakers edged out Aitkin to land on the podium. Crosby-Ironton won the overall conference championship with the lowest placements in both events combined.

Marit Engum, Tori LaFriniere and Peyton Eischens were named to the Mid-State All-Conference team from Detroit Lakes. Amaya LeCleir and Lily Anderson were honorable mentions.
