Detroit Lakes wrapped up regular season tennis play with a home victory over Osakis Monday afternoon to head to the postseason with a record of 9-4 overall.
The Lakers won five of six matches and defeated Osakis 6-1 after the upstart Silverstreaks were open at four-singles.
“Osakis is a new team this year,” DL head coach Zach Biggar said. “They only had nine players today so we did not play 4th singles. Osakis' one singles player was a very solid player that played a serve and volley game that gave Reed a tough time. It took him a set to get a bit more comfortable and the score doesn't quite resemble how that second set went.”
Maddock got the only Osakis point winning at love.

“Other than that, matches were pretty straight forward,” said Biggar. “This was our last regular season match. We are gearing up for sections which will start next Monday. We are unsure at this point who we play and if it is a home match or not.”
Nate Cihak continued a stellar season of singles play winning one and two.
Connor Zamzo moved from one-doubles to three singles and won at love.
The Lakers three doubles pairings of Austin Miller and Jordan Fields, Gabriel Reller and Gavin Smith, and Elijah Blow and Breck Winter all won in straight sets giving up just four games to Osakis in the three matches.
