Detroit Lakes won six of seven matches and picked up its sixth tennis victory of the season defeating the Yellowjackets in Perham 6-1 Thursday, May 6.
Reed Henderson and Perham’s Jack Birkeland went the distance at one-singles. Henderson prevailed 6-3, 10-6 after dropping the first set by a break of serve.
Nate Cihak, Parker Davis and Brodie Cariveau sealed the team victory quickly dropping only four games between the three matches.
Cihak remained undefeated in nine matches this season winning love and two. Davis also won love and two. Cariveau did not relinquish a game at four-singles.
Jack Fudge and Josh Peterson scored Perham’s point defeating DL’s Connor Zamzo and Gavin Smith three and two in the top doubles match.

Austin Miller and Gabe Reller won their two-doubles match in straight sets, as did DL’s third team of Cole Deraney and Breck Winter.
The Lakers swept the home-and-home series from Perham. DL defeated the Jackets 5-2 at home April 29.
Detroit Lakes (6-3) is home today, Friday, May 7, against Thief River Falls (2 p.m.) and Moorhead (5 p.m.); the Prowlers and Spuds play at 3:30 p.m.
