Just about everything went right for the Detroit Lakes boys' basketball team during their 72-21 rout of Park Rapids Tuesday inside the Ralph Anderson Gym.
The Lakers used the Panthers as their slump-busters to break a four-game losing streak, while breaking out offensively and holding Park Rapids to just five points in the second half.
"It was competitive early, since we were not making our shots, but we got the flow in the game and stared making our shots," said DL head coach Robb Flint.
Sophomore guard Rick Hutchinson started things rolling, sinking three treys by the 10-minute mark in the first period.
From there, the Lakers built a 26-11 advantage at the 5:05 mark, which ballooned to 34-16 by halftime.

The Lakers' defense literally shut down any Panther attack, limiting them to five points, while DL bolstered its lead to 48-17 by the 11-minute mark.
Hutchinson finished with a career-high 17 points, while Connor McLeod added 10. Eight players scored for the Lakers' total.
"Everyone was scoring, so it was a good night for us," Flint added.
The Lakers (8-11) will host Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. start.
