East Grand Forks swept a home and home Lakes to Prairie Conference soccer doubleheader from the Lakers Thursday.
The Green Wave shutout the Laker girls in East Grand Forks 2-0.
Senior Danielle Filipi got East Grand Forks on the board just five minutes into the game and Rachel Jenson added the second goal in the 33rd minute, assisted by Ashley Ayotte.
East Grand Forks’ defense kept the Lakers at bay and out of the box much of the game. McKenzie Whalen made six saves to keep DL off the scoreboard snapping a three-game Laker win streak.
DL falls to 5-3 overall and will face Fergus Falls Saturday at 1 p.m. at home.

The Laker boys had a season-high two tallies for the second time this season, but East Grand Forks put six balls in the net for a 6-2 win at Rotary Field. Junior Austin Clifton had a big game finding the back of the net four times for the Green Wave, three times in the second half.
The Lakers fall to 0-8-2 and travel across the border Saturday to face Grand Forks Central (1-10). The Knights have lost 10 consecutive games.
