Week Ten of First Down Friday saw the kickoff of more North Dakota high school playoff games, while Minnesota teams enter the back halves of their seasons.

Mandan beats Davies for second straight year, 26-21

FARGO -- For the second straight season, Davies postseason ends in the 3A quarterfinals on it's own home field.

And for a second straight season, Mandan did the job.

The Braves used a 26-7 run after getting in a 14-0 hole to upend Davies, 26-21.

Tyler Thilmony was on the receiving end for the final two touchdowns, passes were 60 and 31 yards respectively, to give the Braves the lead for good.

Mandan advances to the 3A semifinals against Century. Davies season ends at 6-2.

Bismarck beats West Fargo, 21-20

BISMARCK -- In a game that came down to the wire, West Fargo had a comeback attempt fall just one point shy.

Bismarck blocked an extra point with under 1:20 to play to hold off the Packers, 21-20.

The Demons took at 21-7 in the second half. Then Peyton Jantzi tossed two straight touchdowns to Carter Birrenkott to close the game to one-point, when the extra point was blocked.

Bismarck moves on to face Sheyenne in the 3A semifinals. West Fargo's season comes to a close at 5-3.

Century routs Shanley, 49-28

BISMARCK -- Century continued it's unbeaten season with a convincing win over Shanley in the 3A quarterfinals.

The Patriots jumped out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back, winning 49-28.

The Deacons got the game back under control with two scores in the second quarter to make it 28-15 going into the break, but they never got closer.

Century will host Mandan in the 3A semifinals next Friday. Shanley's season is over at 4-4.

Moorhead beats Rogers, 21-0

MONTICELLO, MN -- Trey Feeney tossed three touchdowns to spark Moorhead to shutout Rogers, 21-0.

With the three touchdown passes, Feeney has 19 touchdown passes in just four games.

The Spuds defense has also dominated through four games. They've given up only 18 points through four contests, including two shutouts.

Moorhead is 4-0 with Brainerd on the schedule next.

Pequot Lakes downs Fergus Falls on the road

FERGUS FALLS-- The Patriots win its third straight game on Friday night, taking down Fergus Falls 18-7.

Otters earned its lone score in the first quarter from Kaden Hartwell. Bode Magnuson was the leader for the Patriots though, also scoring in Friday's win.

With the win, Pequot Lakes moves to 3-1 and is at Thief River Falls Thursday, November 5th. The Otters fall for the third straight week and fall to 1-3. Fergus Falls hosts Park Rapids Area next Friday.

No. 7 Detroit Lakes stays undefeated after Battle for the Paddle win

DETROIT LAKES-- The seventh ranked Lakers remain undefeated after taking down Perham on the road, 28-10. The Lakers jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after Christian Solberg and Joe Heinlein scored touchdowns.

The lone Yellow Jackets touchdown came later in the first quarter, when Josh Peterson hit Finn Diggins for a 49-yard touchdown.

Lakers took a 21-10 lead into halftime after quarterback Matthew Tobkin hit Jacob Kalina for a 35-yard touchdown.

Detroit Lakes moves to 4-0 and will visit Pequot Lakes on Wednesday, November 11th.

The Yellow Jackets suffer its third straight loss and drop to 1-3 on the year and will visit East Grand Forks next Friday.


Ada-Borup gets first win in 34-8 victory over Underwood

ADA -- The Cougars continued their search for their first win of the season Friday night against the Rockets.

Beau Fetting took a third down screen pass to the end zone in the first quarter eluding several defenders along the way. The two-point conversion would fail, but Ada led 6-0.

A silent first half for Underwood turned into another touchdown for the Cougars as time expired. Fetting found paydirt again, this time on a toss around the left end and Ada-Borup rolled to a 34-8 win for victory number one.

New York Mills moves to 4-0 with win over Frazee

MOORHEAD-- New York Mills and Frazee met at Jim Gotta Stadium on Friday, the Eagles move to 4-0 with a 28-7 win.

It was tied 7-7 at halftime after Broden Fleisher and Bren Salo both scored touchdowns.

The Eagles host Wadena-Deer Creek next Friday. Frazee drops to 2-2 and hosts Polk County West next week.


Norman County East-Ulen-Hitterdal defeats Park Christian 12-6

ULEN -- The Titans improved to 3-1 in a unique way Friday night.

The first two scores from NCE/UH came via safety. Titan Engen sacked Max Albrecht in the end zone to put the Titans ahead 4-0.

Drew Jacobson had two interceptions on defense and NCE/UH added a touchdown in the fourth to win 12-6.

Hancock rolls to 50-0 win over Rothsay

ROTHSAY-- Hancock makes the trip to Rothsay for a Friday night contest.

The Owls took an easy to improve to 4-0. Rothday falls to 1-3.
