After a tough loss last week, the Frazee Hornets rebounded nicely and played a very disciplined game for a 34-15 win against an undefeated Lake Park-Audubon team.
Offensively, the Hornets set the tone early, opening the game with a 70-yard touchdown drive.
Defensively, the Hornets held LPA scoreless until the final seconds of the first half.
“And special teams did a fantastic job winning the battle of field position and turnovers,” said Frazee head coach Jim Rader.
“It was an all-around team effort which saw every player getting the opportunity to see the field on Parent’s Night.”

Half time of the game saw the first ever Frazee Athletic Hall of Fame induction, which in itself was a great event.
“The ceremony gave our players yet another reason to pick up their play,” Rader said.
“This young Hornet team wanted to show the Hall of Fame inductees they have reason to be proud to come back...and I think they certainly did that, by scoring two quick touchdowns in less than four minutes into the second half.”
Hesston Bachmann paced the Hornets’ rushing attack with an impressive 148 yards and three touchdowns, while Matt Tangen went 6-11 for 98 yards and a touchdown through the air.
Frazee’s defense was also up to the task of stifling LP-A senior quarterback Mason Swegarden, who was held to negative 20 yards rushing, while allowing Taylor Briard just 46 yards on 10 carries.
“I am proud of our players for the work they put in, for the discipline they are starting to show, and for the teamwork they demonstrated,” Rader said.
“I am also thankful for the hard work and dedication of my staff, and the support we have had from parents and the community.”
Frazee (3-1) will host Red Lake County Central (3-1) for their Homecoming game, while the Raiders (3-1) will look to rebound against Fosston (1-3), in what is also LP-A’s Homecoming game.
