Football: Huskies defeat Raiders 42-8

Senior Chris Ramsey ran in three touchdowns and rushed for a total of 183 yards to lead the Huskies to a 42-8 victory over the Lake Park-Audubon Raiders Friday night in Pillager.

Pillager built the lead over three quarters of unanswered football scoring 20 points in the first quarter and adding two second quarter scores for a 34-0 lead at halftime.

A five-yard touchdown run by Eli Horn was the lone score of the third quarter giving the Huskies a 42-0 advantage.

Raider senior Teddy Schauer scored on a 15-yard run to get Lake Park-Audubon on the board in the fourth quarter. He hit Lane Ulmer for two points on the conversion.

Schauer led the Raiders with 36 yards rushing on six carries and completed four passes for 43 yards. He was picked off once.

Fellow senior quarterback Reese Mattson was 3-11 passing for 23 yards.

Ulmer made a team-high four catches for 33 yards.

The Huskies put up 423 yards in the game, 305 rushing, and held the Raiders to 133 total yards.

Hunter Christianson was a bright spot on a busy defensive night for the Raiders. The senior made 10 tackles, seven solo and was only outdone by Horn, who led the Huskies with 11 tackles.          

Pillager is 4-1 overall – their only loss coming in week one 53-0 at No. 4-A Mahnomen. The Raiders fall to 1-4 and will face undefeated Polk County West (5-0) at home Friday, Sept. 25.
