The No. 6-2A Ottertail Central Bulldogs backed up their state ranking with a 50-6 victory over the Hornets in Frazee Friday night in Midwest District play.
"Hats off to a tremendous OTC team,” Frazee head coach Jim Jacobson said. “They played extremely well. We did some things well tonight. We put together some nice drives and forced them into some third and long situations. Our guys never gave up and kept fighting.”
The Bulldogs scored early on a 65-yard kick six by Wes Olson, followed by a 61-yard punt return for a score by Andrew Van Erp on Frazee’s first drive to lead 13-0.
Tony Ukkelberg completed a 33-yard pass to Van Erp to put the Bulldogs up 21-0 after a Van Erp two-point conversion run.
The Hornets rallied for the first score of the second quarter capping a nine-play, 70-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown run by Riley Utke to cut the lead to 21-6.

Utke led all rushers with a game-high 83 yards on 12 carries, as well as receiving with two receptions for 55 yards.
Ukkelberg averaged seven yards per carry gaining 71 on 10 rushes to lead the Bulldogs.
Tanner Bachmann was held to only 27 yards rushing on 16 carries, as the Bulldog defense keyed on the Frazee quarterback.
“We were impressed with the way Utke ran the ball for us as he made some big strides tonight,” Jacobson said. “Logan Wacker had a good game again and we liked what he did when he was in at quarterback."
Defensively for the Hornets, Jeff Marshall led in tackles for the second week in a row.
Ukkelberg scored on a 26-yard run with four minutes remaining in the half for a 28-6 advantage at the break.
The Bulldogs scored three rushing touchdowns in the final 24 minutes, Cody Seedorf from the two, and Ukkelberg’s second rushing touchdown, a 27-yard run.
Ben Naddy added a 15-yard touchdown run for the only score of the fourth quarter.

The Hornets (0-3) travel to 1-2 Barnesville Friday, Sept. 11. The Trojans played OTC in week one falling 35-14 to the Bulldogs.
OTC (3-0) hosts 2-1 Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.
