The Waubun football team killed two birds with one stone Friday with a crucial 27-6 win over Norman County East.
The Bombers used a tough defense and potent rushing attack to control the game, as two Waubun rushers eclipsed the century mark with Ryan Weber gouging the Panther defense for 181 yards and quarterback Jordan Spaeth going for 100 even.
“This was a huge section and conference win for us against a very solid team,” said Waubun head coach Paul Clark. “This is a big win because it puts us a leg up in the battle for a home playoff game.”
Waubun held a 13-6 halftime advantage after a big 55-yard TD pass by Spaeth to Alex Teiken was proceeded by a Weber six-yard end zone run in the first half.
NCE had an 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for their lone six points of the game.
