Former Laker and current Minnesota Vikings standout wide receiver Adam Thielen will be giving back to his former team this year.
Thielen recently donated new uniforms to the Detroit Lakes football football program for use this season, according to a report by KDLM’s Zeke Fuhrman.
“It was awesome for Adam to give back,” new DL head coach Reed Hefta told KDLM. “It’s really cool. The kids are very excited.”
According to Fuhrman’s report, Thielen donated new Adidas home and away jerseys, as well as new grey and white pants.
Hefta also stated the upcoming season will include the retiring of Thielen’s number at a Mollberg Field home game.
It has yet to be determined if the program will retire Thielen's current No. 19 that he wears with the Vikings or No. 21, which he donned while playing for Detroit Lakes.
Thielen was a 2008 graduate of DLHS and a 2013 graduate of Mankato State University prior to joining the Vikings.
