EAST GRAND FORKS - Members of the Detroit Lakes soccer team pointed to Tuesday night's game after losing to the Green Wave 1-0 on Sept. 11.

"We'll get them next time," Annie Mettert said after the loss.

That's exactly what the Lakers did in a 4-2 victory Tuesday night. The win pulls DL within a game of Bemidji and a half-game behind East Grand Forks in the Lakes to Prairie Conference with three conference games remaining. Bemidji is 5-1 in the conference; East Grand has a record of 5-2, while the Lakers improved to 4-2.

DL's final conference game is against Bemidji Oct. 2 at home.

Halle Jordan got DL on the board in the 22nd minute on an assist by Kyley Foster. East Grand's Erica Eades answered six minutes later and the teams played to a one-all tie at halftime.

Riley Koberinski, who had the game-winner in the earlier match-up Sept. 11, put the Green Wave up 2-1 unassisted 11 minutes into the second half.

The Lakers answered with a scoring barrage of three quick goals late in the game to complete the comeback.

Addie Kay Johnson scored on a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

Foster scored in the 73rd minute and Jordan notched her second goal of the game with four minutes to play.

Keeper Payton Carlblom continued her solid play and made 28 saves, 18 in the first half.

The Lakers head back north for an important conference tilt at Crookston Thursday, Sept. 25. The Pirates are 3-4 in the conference and 3-6 overall. DL is 6-3-2 overall. The last time the two teams met in Detroit Lakes Sept. 16 the Lakers walloped Crookston 8-2.

East Grand Forks has lost two straight games after reeling off six wins in a row.
