The Detroit Lakes girls’ tennis team pulled off its third win of the season with a convincing 6-1 win over visiting Perham Thursday.
All three doubles teams were victorious, as Emma Maguire and Emily Seebold took the No. 1 doubles match 6-0, 6-3 over Katie Howey and Betsy Pearson.
Carolyn Kinney and Devree Bunnis were 6-1, 6-1 winners at second doubles, while Adrianna Brehm and Maddie Ring added a third doubles triumph by a 6-4, 6-2 score.
“I was really impressed with our doubles teams,” said DL head coach Tanner Beauchman.
“We have been working on our doubles play, and it was great to see our doubles teams pick up a sweep.

“Emma and Emily played an aggressive match, and it was encouraging to see them forcing the action by attacking the net.”
Dani Unruh won her No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-2 over Maggie Rennicke, while India Fritz won second singles 6-1, 6-1 over Josie Beachy.
Sydney Fritz capped DL’s wins at No. 3 singles with another victory over Julia Pearson.
“India and Dani played excellent singles matches,” Beauchman said. “They both were very consistent and did not give away points by making unforced errors.”
The Lakers will be hosting New York Mills Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. start.
