No. 3 Kent Spriggs and No. 4 Craig Stein combined in the semifinals to dispose of the top two seeds and the past two Seniors division champions Saturday, Aug. 12 at the 86th Pine to Palm golf tournament.

Both players also made a beeline to the clubhouse and out of the sweltering heat by winning efficiently.

Stein defeated defending champion Dan Ystebo 6&4.

Spriggs posted a 5&4 victory over No. 2-seeded and 2016 champion AJ Greff, this year’s division medalist.

Stein is making his second appearance in the finals and his first trip back since 2013. He finished runner-up that year to Tim Rubis.

Spriggs is back in a title match for the first time since capturing back-to-back Mid-Am championships 2014-15.

The duel for a first Seniors championship for either player begins at 12:20 p.m. on hole No. 1 Sunday.
