Both Detroit Lakes teams continued lengthy winning streaks at the Mid-State Conference Golf Championships Monday, May 13 in Staples.

The Laker boys captured a 26th consecutive conference title but got a scare from Crosby-Ironton as the teams tied for first place with matching scores of 310.

The Rangers’ Cayden Turk and DL’s Hunter Burnside shot identical scores of 74 to lead their respective teams seven strokes behind medalist Beck Erholtz of Staples-Motley.

Burnside earned all-conference honors for his efforts.

Daniel Rosza and Drew Schwan both tied for seventh overall with 78s earning honorable mention.

The Laker girls picked up their 10th straight Mid-State title in much easier fashion.

Detroit Lakes posted a team score of 318 behind three all-conference rounds by medalist Anna Cihak (74), a career low from McKenna Mallow (75) and Shelby Busker a shot back with 76 to load up the top of the leaderboard.

Pequot Lakes finished second in the team standings 54 strokes back of DL with a 372.

McKenna Burhans carded the fourth Laker score with a 93.
