Busker four-time All-American Scholar

The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced Monday with a total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor including Sydney Busker of Detroit Lakes.

The WGCA All-American Scholar Golf Teams recognize the outstanding academic and athletic achievements in women's college golf. Recognized as having one of the highest standards for selection to these teams in college athletics (3.50 GPA), the WGCA All-American Scholar Golf Teams continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. 

The St. Catherine golf team had five members earn the prestigious award, the most in program history, led by senior Sydney Busker (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) who was named to the All-American Scholar Team in each of her four seasons. Junior Maddie Weinman (East Bethel, Minn. / St. Francis ) and sophomore Jordan Amelon (Iowa City, Iowa / Iowa West) were recognized with the award for the second time in their careers while rookies Clara Godoy-Henderson (Mound, Minn. / Mound-Westonka) and Kate Taylor (Salt Lake City, Utah / Skyline) earned the honor in their first years.

Sports Editor at the Detroit Lakes Tribune. Williams worked prior as the Sports Editor in Perham for the Focus, a Forum Communications newspaper, from 2010-14.
