PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico - Tom Hoge’s bid for his first win on the PGA Tour fell short Sunday as he placed tied for third at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at the El Camaleon Golf Club.
Hoge, a 31-year-old six-year PGA pro from Fargo, bogied the par 4, No. 16 hole to put him two strokes behind the leader. After carding pars on the final two holes, Hoge finished the tournament at 17-under par - three strokes behind winner Viktor Hovland.
Hoge had rounds of 66, 67, 65 and 69.
Hovland sank a birdie putt on the final hole to claim the win. Aaron Wise placed second at 19-under. Hoge tied for third at 17-under with Adam Long.
