Lady Hornets progress with top score of season

The Frazee Hornet gymnastics team showed major improvement Saturday at the Park Rapids Invite.  

The Hornets scored a season high 104.05 in finishing in fifth place.

The Hornets previous high this season was a 93.9 last week against Fergus Falls.

Emma Buhr was the team's top all-around performer, finishing 12th with a 29.35. Her and Jessica Irish tied for fifth on the vault with scores of 8.5.

Frazee head coach Aime Erickson said the team showed the most improvement on the floor and uneven bars.

Season bests were set by Emma with a 8.5 on vault and 6.7 on bars and by Irish with a 6.4 on beam and 8.5 on vault; Montana Osterman with a 6.4 on floor, 8.45 vault, and 3.5 bars," Erickson said. "Also setting season bests were Sam Riggles with a 6.9 handspring vault, Morgan Laine with a 7.05 handspring vault and 3 on bars; Brenna Graham with a 3.9 beam, 6.9 vault; Jerica Totland 5.7 on floor, 5.9 beam, 7.3 handspring vault and 4.2 bars; and Kirsten Tollefson with a 4.5 floor, 3.9 beam, and 6.8 vault.

Three of the team's youngsters, eighth graders Osterman and Totland, as well as 7th grader Laine were most improved individually.
