The Detroit lakes junior varsity baseball team has started the season with a record of 1-3.
During the first week of games due to the weather, the JV played two five-inning games and came out on the short end with losses to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 5-0 and Fergus Falls 11-5.
The Lakers traveled to Park Rapids April 22, and split a double header.
The Lakers won the first game 17-2.
Matt Schouviller pitched a great and hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to lead them to their first win of the season.

Sean Adams provided a key triple in the third inning to break the game open.
Other Lakers who helped with the offensive punch were Andrew Dahl with three hits, Malcolm Bradbury and Matthew Bergren each with two hits.
The Lakers lost the second game 8-7. Matthew Bergren threw well, but the Lakers committed seven errors in the defeat.
Laker boys JV golf team wins first invite of season
The junior varsity boys’ golf team won their home meet at Lakeview Golf Course with a 297.
Ben Unruh shot an even par 64 for top honors for the Lakers, while Isaac Cihak was tied for third with a 74
